COPENHAGEN, June 11th, 2020: 5th Planet Games A/S (OAX: FIVEPG) is pleased to announce that the annual report for 2019 has been released today. The financial results were weak, but the company has now reduced its cost base significantly and the studios in Nottingham and Sacramento have been closed. Going forward, the company is focusing on own game development from the studio in Berlin, which has multiple seasoned game developers. The good news is that it leaves us with a much more attractive and lean company ready to attack the future. We have now an average monthly operational cost of DKK 900,000. “This is great”, Henrik Nielsen explains, because the route to profitability is not that long anymore. “The combination of several upcoming game releases and low monthly operational costs is quite unique,” says Henrik Nielsen. “We still aspire to create smash-hit games every time we build and launch a game, but cost wise we are now in a situation, where a moderately successful game might make it possible to take substantial steps towards the goal of becoming a profitable company. That’s exciting.” The coming 5th Planet Games 2020 calendar is filled with game releases.
