By growing AlGaN (aluminium gallium nitride) nanowires on graphene, graphene will be used both as a substrate and as a UV transparent electrode in order to achieve a high external efficiency.
CrayoNano’s unique device structure thus leads to reduced heat loss, and in addition reduced material consumption.
Nanowires enable improved crystal quality, which can improve operating lifetime, and reliability as reduced lifetime and reliability has been connected to high dislocation density in thin film devices. Dislocation density is the amount of structural failures in the crystal structure. Nanowire technology can also increase the effective area of the LED, relative to planar technology, increasing the amount of light generated.
The result is a flexible and extremely thin and lightweight epiwafer able to emit large amounts of light from a small area.
Graphene is experiencing tremendous attention worldwide. Semiconductor nanowires on graphene are expected to become the basis for new types of device systems, and ultimately change the semiconductor industry.
Selskapet sikret seg i går, i konkurranse med 4 200 ander selskap, 25 MNOK i funding fra EU:
Trondheim, Norway – December 22nd 2020 – CrayoNano has been chosen to receive a European Union Horizon 2020 Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SME) EIC Accelerator grant of €2.4 million
The jurors in the EIC Accelerator panel mentioned among other positive remarks on the project: “the innovation has a huge potential to revolutionize the market of UVC LEDs, making both societal and environmental impacts”
“I am so proud of the CrayoNano team. EIC Accelerator’s evaluation of our technology platform was very thorough and winning its approval shows that we are on the right track and that the products we are developing will make a huge impact”, says CEO Jo Uthus at CrayoNano.
Chosen among 4,200 companies
The EIC Accelerator is designed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMES) with radically new ideas underpinned by a business plan for rolling out marketable innovation solutions and with ambitions to scale up. Selected companies receive funding and they get extra acceleration services to connect with investors, corporates and likeminded entrepreneurs.
CrayoNano was selected FROM 4,200 companies for the EU Horizon 2020 program EIC Accelerator. Less than 1% of all applicants (39) received grants.

Hi Niranjan,
i have been buying shares through Arctic Securities in Oslo. As long as the paper is registered at NOTC you must buy via broker. The company has indicated that it will be listed on an open exchange in the future, but there has not been set an actual date (as far as i know).
I really agree with you regarding the potential, and i will also be buying even more next week. In my opinion the technology is unique, as is the potential when you look at the market, and current solutions.

I heard about this company when I was studying at NTNU. I think that this company has great potential to grow rapidly. Could you tell me how to invest in this share through NOTC? I don't see any option to purchase directly on the https://www.notc.no/ website. Is there any minimum investment amount for purchasing the shares? Thanks-Niranjan
