Zwipe expands its Asia-Pacific and European footprints with four new customers

OSLO, NORWAY – 10 February 2021 – Biometric fintech company Zwipe is pleased to announce that over the recent months it has finalized four new partnerships with prominent card manufacturers in Asia-Pacific and Europe. The combined annual card shipment from these new customers is in excess of 1 billion, of which payment cards constitute more than 150 million.

The new card manufacturers are working with Zwipe to develop and exploit the new market opportunities for biometric payments. As part of their engagement with Zwipe, these customers have chosen the Zwipe Pay ONE platform for delivering biometric payment cards to the issuers, targeting pilots before the end of 2021. Subject to positive pilot results, mass-market rollout will follow.

Commenting on these partnerships, André Løvestam, CEO of Zwipe said “We continue to see strong traction from card manufacturers all over the world to engage with Zwipe on biometric payment cards based on our Zwipe Pay ONE platform. This is well matched by interest from issuers who are keen to deliver the next generation contactless payments experience to consumers, combining the convenience and safety of truly contact-free with the security of strong biometric authenticatio

February 2021 by Vince Graziani, CEO, IDEX Biometrics ASA

Given the extent of changes to the way we work, live and conduct business over the past 12 months, it’s been difficult to keep track. Yet, with light at the end of the tunnel, it may well be our fingerprints that offer a sense of security as we head back into a transformed world.

Debit and credit cards are nothing new, but, according to Pew Research, consumers still see them as the most secure form of payment. Retaining this familiarity while dramatically improving security is a tangible way that retailers and banks can improve the consumer experience moving forward. To do so during a forthcoming period where a host of new fears or concerns are likely to be at the forefront of people’s minds, could be an outright differentiator. The transformed world that awaits us presents an opportunity for service providers, but only if they take heed of people’s insecurities. By making fingerprints king of the biometric security measures, the retail sector’s relationship with a changed public in this new world can get off to the best possible start.

NatWest Group and Mastercard expand payments partnership with a focus on innovation and customer experience

NatWest Group to switch all Debit portfolios to Mastercard

Mastercard and NatWest Group today announced an expansion of their payments partnership by agreeing to convert all the Banking Group’s retail and business debit cards to Mastercard. The agreement includes all NatWest Group brands: NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Ulster Bank and Coutts, totalling 16 million cards.

The deal represents a significant broadening of the parties’ relationship with the aim of delivering payment innovation and enhanced digital payment experiences to cardholders. An integrated digital ID scheme , tror med Infenion ID

https://www.paymentscardsandmobile.com/unlocking-the-value-of-digital-identity-in-payments/

Unlocking the payment ecosystem
In an increasingly connected world, consumers find themselves needing to authenticate their identity daily. Whether that be with financial institutions, retailers, government departments or healthcare providers. Yet, it is rarely known where consumer data is stored, how secure it is or how it may be traded.
Privacy regulations such as the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) have attempted to restore some trust, but the industry still has a way to go.
Currently, authentication is fragmented and unwieldy. It requires a mix of hardcopy documents, online login credentials and digital wallets. This is not only frustrating for consumers but leads to the reuse of passwords and PINS that make the user vulnerable to fraud.
Mastercard believes there is a clear need for a verified identity that is accepted globally and across multiple digital touchpoints and doesn’t involve aggregating more information in potentially vulnerable data stores, but instead gives the individual control over their identity data.
An integrated digital ID scheme would enable the payments industry to fight fraud on a global scale. It would also meet the pressing need for a payment authentication system that consumers can access anytime, anywhere, and on any device. This joined-up approach is vital to ensure no consumer is left behind as the world continues its digital transformation.

http://vxz.eu/IDEX__Payment-Card-Market

https://www.moneyvox.fr/tarif-bancaire/actualites/82762/bnp-paribas-la-carte-bancaire-biometrique-va-couter-pres-de-160-euros
