Minister O’Regan: And I would actually build on it Tim, and something that Jonathan Wilkinson (Minister of Environment and Climate Change) actually brought up to me (Minister of Environment and Climate Change) is that it’s not about the source of emissions, it’s about just lowering emissions. We’ve got to get out of this targeting industries. Our goal here is just to lower emissions. That’s our goal. Not lower their emissions, and their emissions, and their emissions. We’ve just got to lower emissions and that’s a very important point when you talk about net-zero by 2050. The important word to remember there is ‘net’. There will still be emissions and there will be other things that will offset those inevitable emissions. We’ll still emit, we’ve just got to emit a heck of a lot less in order to reach 2050 and in order to reach the goals we have set for 2030 as well."

Quebec har vel presisert at de er imot blå hydrogen, men skal satse på grønn hydrogen. Så alt er vel avhengig av politikken i Quebec. Hva får dere til å tro at de snur i Quebec?

Equinor har fått tillatelse av myndighetene til å fortsette med lisensene sine utenfor kysten av Canada. Tydeligvis trenger de penger og olje i Canada. Dette bør bidra til at
det løsner for Qec snart.

Håber Quebec ministre kommer under pres af Federale myndigheder.

There was an article, there claimed that the Federal Government has been in direct talks with Quebec about the hydrogen, but I can't find it. It has been posted on this forum before.

Nok en gang blir det nevnt at Québec er iferd med å utarbeide sin egen hydrostrategi med fokus på grønn hydrogen. Canada kan umulig protestere på at Quebec satser på den ultimate klima- og miljøløsningen så lenge vannkraftprovinsen deltar i hydrogenkappløpet med grønn hydrogen som sitt uslåelige konkurransefortrinn.

Om ikke Clean Tech pilot godkjennes, så må man jo nesten dra frem et bibelsk sitat: Tilgi dem, for de vet ikke hva de gjør.

Energi behovet fremover vil bare øke, og om ikke de som er best i klassen får produsere den vil garantert noen andre som IKKE er best i klassen gjøre det.

produksjon og dermed også utslipp(+ arbeidsplasser og inntekter flyttes til et annet land og Canada fremstår miljøvennlig)

RENE men uten inntekter og arbeidsplasser og i tillegg har dem da sørget for et langt høyere utslipp globalt. Og sist jeg undersøkte så var utslippsproblematikken IKKE et lokalt problem.

Jeg forholder meg til hva myndighetene gjør og sier. Hvis vanlig konvensjonell naturgass og blå hydrogen var blitt nevnt i Quebecs Green Economic Plan for 2030, ville jeg kjøpt Qec aksjer i bøtter og spann. Som det nå er, ble grønn hydrogen og fornybar naturgass nevnt i tilllegg til MILLIARD beløp som er avsatt til elektrifisering av transportsektoren frem til 2030.

For øvrig samme utfordring vi har i Norge. MDG vil legge ned all produksjon vi har av olje og gass men skjønner jo ikke at da bare flyttes produksjonen til et sted hvor avtrykket er betydelig større samtidig som vi mister våre inntekter og arbeidsplasser. Norge skal drives på dugnad....ha ha ha...

Québec har ingen gass- og oljeindustri og følgelig ikke de samme problemene som Norge har med hensyn til tap av arbeidsplasser og inntekter.

Vil du hellere have danske priser på strøm gennemsnitspris DKR. 2,3 omregnet til SEK 3,13 NOK 3,19. Den nøgne kwh pris er ca. DKR 0,30 så resten af beløbet er transport i ledningerne + afgifter, som der bliver beregnet moms af. Ca. 50 % af strømmen kommer fra co2 frie energikilder, men man betaler 100 % i co2 afgift af hele strømforbruget.

The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) is forecasting a 14 per cent increase in upstream natural gas and oil investment in 2021. Capital spending in the sector is expected to be around $3.36 billion higher this year, reaching $27.3 billion, compared to an estimated total investment of $24 billion in 2020.

Natural gas and oil are Canada’s biggest export commodities by value. According to Statistics Canada, exports of crude oil, bitumen, natural gas, natural gas liquids and refined petroleum products generated more than $112 billion, or about 19 per cent of revenue from all of Canada’s exports combined.
Global demand for Canadian natural gas and oil is expected to grow.
In its Stated Policies Scenario, the International Energy Agency (IEA) projects global oil demand will increase five per cent by 2030 and six per cent by 2040 — reaching 104 million barrels per day.
Demand for natural gas is also strong, projected to increase 15 per cent by 2030 and 30 per cent by 2040 — reaching 5,221 billion cubic metres.
Together, oil and natural gas meet 53 per cent of global energy demand in 2040.
The IEA projects heavy oil and bitumen demand will grow 23 per cent by 2040, reaching 4.42 million barrels per day.
Canada is expected to supply approximately 79 per cent of that total.
The IEA report recognizes Canada as a leader in climate action.

Quebec is the only province that has actually reduced debt in the past six fiscal years, a “remarkable accomplishment,” Rishi Sondi, an economist at Toronto-Dominion Bank, said in a report published July 30.
