Over 10 years, the state has awarded $41.6 million in credits to 7,224 installations. The 4,608 residential projects received $14.8 million in credits and 2,666 business installations were awarded credits worth nearly $26.8 million. The average residential credit has grown from $1,850 in 2012 to $3,215 in 2021. The average business credits increased from $7,997 to $9,990 in 10 years.

“That solar credit turned out to be an enormously successful credit,” Bolkcom said. “We probably spent $30 (million) or $40 million state money over 10 years and probably got $400 million addition in private investment” in solar installations.

"The West Virginia Democrat, however, expressed interest in backing more federal support for renewable energy sources and technologies, raising the possibility that he might be able to vote for a smaller climate-focused package.

But the parameters of such a bill still need to be sketched, out and Manchin didn’t clarify whether he would support moving such a bill with simple-majority votes under the special budget reconciliation process or under regular order with 60-plus-vote majorities.

“There’s a lot of good things in there,” he said when asked about the climate-related provisions in the Build Back Better bill. “We got a lot of money in there for innovation, technology, tax credits for basically clean technologies and a clean environment and I think we have to continue.""

”Q CELLS is currently planning to make massive additional US investments across the full solar supply chain including modules, cells, wafers and polysilicon, in fact just two months ago Q CELLS invested over 160 millions dollars in REC Silicon. That investment will enable REC to restart its dormant US polysilicon production and will mark the auspicious rebirth of polysilicon production in the US”.
Andy Monroe, general counsel, Hanwha Q Cells.

Det blir väl inte tydligare än såhär.

Veldig bra.

"Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said Tuesday that it’s likely Democrats will have an easier time coming to an agreement on climate change than on other areas of President Biden's proposed climate and social spending bill.

Manchin, who last month said he would vote against the Build Back Better Act in its current form, seemed relatively open to its climate components in the first workweek of the new year.

“The climate thing is one that we probably can come to an agreement much easier than anything else,” he told reporters.

Asked about the climate provisions, he said, “There’s a lot of good things in there.”

“We have a lot of money in there for innovation, technology, tax credits for basically clean technologies and a clean environment,” the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee chairman said."

"Senate Democrats on Tuesday say they expect President Biden to restart talks with holdout Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) after a “cooling off” period that will extend until the Senate finishes debate on voting rights legislation and rules reform.

Senate Democrats agreed at a virtual lunchtime meeting Tuesday that everyone in their caucus would take a deep breath and step back from the heated debate over Biden’s sweeping climate and social spending plan to give Manchin some space.

Manchin told reporters on Tuesday morning that there are “no negotiations going on at this time” over Biden’s stalled Build Back Better agenda.

Democratic senators say they have agreed to a cooling off period to give Biden and Manchin time to restart the talks that collapsed after Manchin told “Fox News Sunday” on Dec. 19 that he could not support the $1.75 trillion framework unveiled by the White House in October.

“We all acknowledge, understand there’s a cooling off period and we need to give a little distance to Manchin and Biden on this so they can come back together and try again,” said a Democratic senator who participated in Tuesday’s caucus discussion.

“My guess is there will be a very significant reworking of the bill,” the lawmaker added.

Senate Democrats touched only briefly on the plan to revive the Build Back Better Act on Tuesday and spent most of the lunchtime discussion focused on voting rights legislation, which they expect to come to the floor next week.

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) told reporters Tuesday that he expects Biden and senior White House officials to resume negotiations with Manchin in the near future.

“I believe the Biden administration will be having discussions with Manchin, with his cooperation and participation on BBB as we move forward,” he said."

Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Becomes Law: Importers Must Prepare for Increased Enforcement and Detentions at the Border

Government Will Presume Forced Labor Is Involved

Starting on June 21, 2022, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will apply a presumption that any goods produced in whole or in part in XUAR are produced with forced labor and prohibited from importation. This broad prohibition includes products that were made with raw materials produced in XUAR, but was finished in third countries or in other regions of China. The law does not provide for any de minimis exception. The exception to this presumption will only apply if the importer can demonstrate by "clear and convincing evidence" that forced labor was not used and that:

It has sufficiently performed due diligence, effective supply chain tracing, and supply chain management measures to ensure that goods are not manufactured wholly or in part with forced labor from XUAR;

The type, nature, and extent of evidence demonstrate that goods originating in the PRC (including goods detained or seized) were not manufactured wholly or in part in the XUAR.

Any exception to the presumption must be submitted to Congress and made publicly available, likely resulting in few exceptions.

Approximately January 22, 2022: Within 30 days from December 23, 2021, the Task Force will publish a Federal Register Notice soliciting public comments on how best to ensure that goods produced with forced labor are not imported into the United States.

Approximately March 8, 2022: Once the Notice is published, the public will have forty-five (45) days to submit comments.

Approximately April 22, 2022: Within forty-five (45) days after the close of the comment period, a public hearing will be conducted to discuss the use of forced labor in the PRC and measures to prevent the importation of goods produced with forced labor.

Multiple sources told the Triangle Business Journal in North Carolina that the project is on an accelerated timeline as the country, and the world, rushes to fill the gap in the global chip shortage that's hampering the economic recovery and causing supply chain disruption.

Citing non-disclosure agreements with various parties including the company and site selection officials, sources would not confirm the name of the company but confirmed it is a U.S. chipmaker. Cities in Texas, Arizona and California as well as in Chatham County, North Carolina are vying for the project, sources added.

Last October, CEO Sanjay Mehrotra of Boise, Idaho-based Micron Technology (Nasdaq: MU), one of world's largest chipmakers, announced the company's intent to invest more than $150 billion globally over the next decade in memory manufacturing and research and development.

Kunne filleristet fyren:)
