28.06.2021 12:36:11: Mainstream Renewable Power Grows Footprint in Vietnam with Acquisition of 80% of portfolio of Solar Projects
Mainstream Renewable Power, the global wind and solar company, has signed an
agreement to acquire an 80 percent shareholding in Technology and Development
Joint Stock Company Limited ("D&T") which is developing a 405 MW portfolio of
solar projects in the Dak Nong province of central Vietnam. The portfolio of
three projects, which is included in the Vietnam Government's Power Development
Plan 7 (PDP 7) has been in development since 2019 and is expected to reach
financial close in 2022.
This deal marks the latest indication of Mainstream's continued role as an
enabler of renewable electrification in Vietnam. It follows the 2020 agreement
with Vietnamese partner AIT to develop a 500MW offshore wind project in Ben Tre,
and the agreement with Phu Cuong Group to develop the 1,400MW Phu Cuong Soc
Trang offshore wind project in 2017. Beyond collaborating with local partners to
develop renewable assets, Mainstream has also signed an agreement with the
Vietnamese Government to share offshore wind development knowledge for the
purposes of capacity building.
Speaking on the agreement, Mainstream's General Manager for the APAC region,
Cameron Smith, said:
"We are delighted to have signed this agreement with D&T to bring 405MW of solar
assets to financial close next year. This deal further bolsters our position in
Vietnam, which is internationally recognised as one of the countries leading the
way in solar energy deployment in this region. We have been present in Vietnam
since 2016 and play a key role in enabling its energy transition - with over
2.3GW of solar and offshore wind projects now in the pipeline."
Commenting on the agreement, Mr Thanh, Vice Chairman and CEO of D&T said:
"It is a pleasure for us to collaborate with a very trusted partner like
Mainstream, a company which is globally well-known in the area of renewable
energy. The collaboration is not only good for both parties but also fruitful
for the Dak Nong province as the scale of this portfolio will help to
significantly boost the renewable energy industry as well as the development of
the province"
Aker Horizons owns 75 percent of Mainstream Renewable Power.

Takk for mye bra informasjon.

07.2021 07:00:00: Mainstream Renewable Power Successfully Completes the Final Phase of US$1.8 billion Wind and Solar Financing Deal in Chile
Mainstream Renewable Power has achieved financial close for the third and final
phase of its "Andes Renovables" wind and solar platform in Chile. The c. US$182
million in debt raised will be used to build the "Copihue" phase which consists
of one wind farm, named Camán, located in central Chile.
The project, which will commence operations in 2022, initially had an installed
capacity of 100 MW but has since increased to 148.5 MW following the signing of
an additional long-term, bilateral Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with a
strategic partner.
The senior debt financing comes from KfW IPEX-Bank, DNB, CaixaBank and the VAT
financing comes from Scotiabank Chile.
With the financial close announced today, Mainstream completes an investment of
more than US$1.8 billion to build its entire Andes Renovables platform, which is
expected to be fully operational by 2022 and will provide around 20 percent of
power for regulated customers in Chile using renewable energy. Aker Horizons
owns 75 percent of Mainstream Renewable Power.
Sacyr will be the Balance of Plant contractor for the Camán wind farm and they
will carry out the electrical connection works. The main transformer will be
supplied by ABB.
"Net zero commitments across the world require systemic decarbonisation of power
- our presence and work with partners in both mature and emerging markets
demonstrates the scalability and success of our project development model to
support this transition," said Mary Quaney, Mainstream's Group Chief Executive
Officer. "Andes Renovables is one of the largest renewable energy platforms in
Latin America which will have an installed capacity of 1.35 GW of clean energy,
generating around 3,100 jobs during its construction."
"It showcases our industry-leading expertise in structuring hybrid projects with
the combination of ten wind and solar generation profiles in order to meet our
commitments to deliver firm power at scale over a twenty-year period. It
reflects our commitment to, and experience in Chile, which is one of the world's
most progressive renewable energy markets, and further solidifies our leadership
position in-country, where we will soon be supplying the equivalent of one in
five Chilean homes with power from our facilities."
Manuel Tagle, Mainstream's General Manager for Latin America said: "Andes
Renovables will power the equivalent of more than 1.7 million Chilean homes and
avoid the emission of more than 1.6 million tonnes of CO2 per annum, the same as
that produced by approximately 350,000 cars each year.
"We are pleased to have increased the Copihue portfolio size by 50 percent by
adding a bilateral PPA in addition to the existing regulated PPA, which
demonstrates our standing in the market. And it doesn't stop there. We are using
our platform in renewables and experience as a market leader to pioneer new
developments in emerging technologies to complement existing capacity and ensure
we are on the cutting edge of cleantech. In parallel to the Andes Renovables
platform we are also investing in a new large-scale renewable platform, Nazca
Renovables, and in the last few months we have signed four new energy supply
contracts with private customers. We look forward to sharing more updates on
both portfolios as they progress through development."

«Scatec starts commercial operation of its 148 MW solar plant in Ukraine
Scatec has grid connected and will from 2 July start commercial operations of its largest solar power plant in Ukraine, the 148 MW Progressovka plant in the Mykolayiv region»

Mainstream Renewable Power announces Nazca Renovables - a new, hybrid 1 GW renewable energy platform in Chile
In a major expansion of its presence in Chile, Mainstream Renewable Power today announces plans for Nazca Renovables - a new, hybrid renewable energy platform in Chile with over 1 Gigawatt (GW) of capacity. The clean energy generated by the platform will avoid the emission of more than 1.1 million tonnes of CO2 – around the equivalent of every one of Chile’s 18 million people planting a tree.
The platform consists of six projects – three wind farms, and three solar PV generation assets and is divided into three portfolios. Humboldt, the first of these, will provide 255 MW of clean energy via the Tata Inti solar farm and the Entre Ríos wind farm, with construction expected to begin in mid-2022.
Aker Horizons owns 75 percent of Mainstream.
Today’s announcement is a major expansion of Mainstream’s presence in Chile – the new Nazca Renovables platform builds on the strengths of the 1.35GW Andes Renovables platform, which recently saw its first portfolio, Condor, begin supplying electricity to the grid. Already, by 2022, Mainstream expects to provide 20 percent of electricity required by Chilean consumers as the Andes Renovables portfolio comes online in its entirety. This new platform will grow Mainstream’s importance as a provider of renewable energy in the country by powering over 1.2 million homes when it is fully operational.
Manuel Tagle, Mainstream’s General Manager for Latin America said:
“The Nazca Renovables platform and its three portfolios make Mainstream an even more influential enabler of Chile’s decarbonisation. The six new projects will help bring investment and employment across the country, consolidating Mainstream’s leadership in one of Latin America’s most advanced markets for renewable energy. We’re very excited by the pace of our developments in Chile and will draw on our significant experience with the Andes Renovables platform to ensure Nazca is a similar success.”
Mainstream is also exploring incorporating hybrid solutions as part of the platform, such as storage systems with large-scale batteries located at the various assets. This will allow them to generate power for more hours in a day, providing additional flexibility to better serve customers’ needs and providing additional support to the grid. This would build on Mainstream’s history of realising and commercialising emerging technologies, which includes the recent agreement to explore the development of green hydrogen and low-cost ammonia production in Chile.
The Humboldt portfolio will supply a recently-signed long-term bilateral private Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with a strategic partner. This is the second such deal within a month for Mainstream in Chile, following the signing of a PPA to supply power from the Copihue phase of the Andes Renovables platform.
Mary Quaney, Mainstream’s Chief Executive Officer, said:
“Not only is this platform a significant expansion for Mainstream globally, but it is a prime example of the new possibilities the company is developing through renewable energy agreements with private clients. Flexibility and reliability are key for such clients – and our exploration of integrating storage and batteries shows how we are adapting to the needs of our customers and the energy transition.”

AKH: MRP LANSERT NY FORNYBAR ENERGI-PLATTFORM I CHILE, KAP. OVER 1 GW
