QEC - Joins E&P companies in commitment to provide LNG to Europe
Questerre joins E&P companies in commitment to provide LNG to Europe
In conjunction with other Canadian E&P energy executives, the Company's senior officers signed a letter advising the Canadian Government of its willingness and ability to provide LNG to Europe to alleviate the current energy crisis. This would include natural gas from the Company's discovery in Quebec that is currently the subject to a claim against the province.
Please see attached copy of the letter.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz will visit Saudi Arabia and meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as part of a Gulf trip, his spokesman said Monday, as Germany rushes to secure energy supplies.
Scholz, whose two-day trip next weekend will also take him to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, becomes the latest Western leader to meet with the crown prince.
Bin Salman was until recently regarded as a pariah in the West due to his suspected role in the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018.
But he is being courted again as Europe and its allies urgently seek fresh sources of fossil fuels after Russia cut gas supplies amid soaring tensions over its invasion of Ukraine.
Scholz, accompanied by a business delegation, will visit Saudi Arabia on Saturday, where he will meet with the crown prince and -- if his health permits it -- King Salman, government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit said.
He did not go into detail about the reasons for Scholz's Gulf visit but said he would be "very surprised" if the topic of energy was not discussed.
The spokesman also offered assurances that "the murder of Mr Khashoggi will certainly figure in discussions".
It is the latest sign of bin Salman's international rehabilitation -- in July, French President Emmanuel Macron held talks with him in Paris, and US President Joe Biden visited the kingdom.
On Sunday, Scholz will head first to the UAE and meet with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. Economy Minister Robert Habeck said Scholz would sign contracts there related to liquified natural gas -- seen as a key alternative to Russian energy supplies.
In the afternoon, the chancellor will hold talks with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
Habeck already visited Qatar and the UAE in March in an effort to find alternatives to Russian gas, which Germany has traditionally depended on heavily.
Russia's decision to cut off supplies has triggered an energy crisis in Europe, with consumers and businesses facing soaring bills as winter approaches.

Dumsmarte kommentarer?

No pipeline for gas exist......................Mr Binnon know that
The government of Quebec passed Bill 21 on April 12, effectively banning oil and gas production in the eastern Canadian province and agreeing to provide C$100mn (US$79.5mn) in compensation to the industry, much less than the C$500mn requested.
“We are incredibly disappointed that the government of Quebec has chosen to proceed with this legislation,” Questerre Energy CEO Michael Binnion said April 14. “By blocking the development of its natural gas resources with zero-emissions technology for export, Quebec is missing an important opportunity to work with other nations to provide secure, reliable energy for our European allies

Michael Binnion – Sept 30th an important deadline for Federal comments
September 28, 2022 7:00 AM
Maureen McCall
Could Canadian industries lobby for a Canadian version of the 45Q tax credit? Binnion urges companies to submit comments on the proposed Oil and Gas Emissions Cap this week before the Sept 30th deadline via email. The document is titled- “Options to cap and cut oil and gas sector greenhouse gas emissions to achieve 2030 goals and net-zero by 2050.” People can submit written comments by email by September 30, 2022, to PlanPetrolieretGazier-OilandGasPlan@ec.gc.ca.

“The Alberta government and the federal government aren’t coordinating their activities. So there’s no way to get certainty. I just come back to my point that for September 30th, please make sure you get your submission in by email. Because if we don’t, Alberta and Canada could completely miss out again, initially on LNG and secondly on carbon tech and Alberta is so well positioned for both. Albertans don’t want to miss out on the coming boom in carbon tech.”

Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson said this week that Canada has set up working groups with Germany and the European Union to determine whether it can "potentially assist with LNG" from eastern Canada.
A German government source who was not authorized to speak on the record said Canada and Germany "are still working on" a possible LNG project.
"Minister Wilkinson has spoken often and directly with his German and European counterparts, and with members of the private sector, regarding LNG opportunities on Canada’s east coast," said Keean Nembhard, a spokesman for Wilkinson.
