Kan se ut som at Tunisiske myndigheter kan ha en interesse for avklaring i Zenith-saken..

Spot on, her er kursen på all time low.

That is a very interesting article Children's ski races, and as you say, a very positive one for Zenith.
While Tunisia may not care in the slightest about little Zenith they care a lot about their ongoing negotiations with the IMF from whom they wish to borrow USD$1.9 billion. This is where Zenith appear to have been rather clever.
The IMF is headquartered in Washington, which is also the headquarters of the International Center for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (Cirdi) to whom Zenith have taken their arbitration claim against the Tunisian government.
The IMF takes a dim view of countries that do not honour their contracts with foreign companies and they often demand political reforms in return for their loans. They will be well aware of the Zenith arbitration at CIRDI and it will be a black mark against the Tunisian government when it comes to negotiating their loan.
It is in Tunisia’s interests to settle this dispute amicably and as quickly as possible in order to facilitate the IMF loan without any issues. After all what is $40 million compared to $1.9 billion?

Wow, great research, its not even about 48m, its prob about way less, and for Zenith to increase production without government interference. Maybe Zenith gets more action of the fields instead of cash. many options i can imagine.

The other interesting point about Tunisia is the sacking of the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines from the government back in May 2023. https://bnn.network/politics/tunisian-president-kais-said-fires-minister-of-industry-energy-and-mines/
While this does not mean a great deal on its own, the minister, Naila Nouira Al-Kenji, was in charge of the ministry when they started to be difficult with Zenith about the oil sales. The fact that she has been fired will make it easier for her successor to settle the arbitration with Zenith as it will allow a reset of the relationship. All past failings can be blamed on the old minister and the success of any settlement can be claimed by the new.
While we cannot predict the future and be sure of what will happen, all of the politics in Tunisia and with their IMF negotiations do seem to be aligning to make a settlement a mor elikely option than a full arbitration and this is also reflected in the reporting of the Tunisian press.

Court rejects SMP’s request for stay of proceedings and awards damages
and ordered it to pay an amount of EUR 30,000 to AAOGC by way of compensatory damages. (to Zenith )
The Court’s decision has symbolic value for Zenith insofar as it suggests that our steady and resilient approach to our African operations eventually does bear fruit.
.
A final decision in respect of the Claim is expected prior to the close of Zenith’s next financial year, March 31, 2024.

Court rejects SMP’s request for stay of proceedings and awards damages
July 3, 2023
ZENITH ENERGY LTD.
("Zenith" or the "Company")
Court rejects SMP’s request for stay of proceedings and awards damages
Zenith Energy Ltd. (LSE: ZEN; OSE: ZENA), the international energy production and development company, is pleased to announce that its fully owned subsidiary, Anglo African Oil & Gas Congo S.A.U (“AAOGC”), has been awarded a payment of compensatory damages by the Paris Commercial Court (the “Court”) in its claim against SMP Energies ( hereafter “SMP”, formerly Société de Maintenance Pétrolière – SMP) the rig contractor that performed drilling services in wells TLP-103 and TLP-103C of the Tilapia oilfield during 2018-2019.
In the decision, the Court rejected SMP’s request for a stay of proceedings in France due to new proceedings having been initiated in the Republic of the Congo, stating that SMP’s request contained “all the characteristics of a dilatory request”, and ordered it to pay an amount of EUR 30,000 to AAOGC by way of compensatory damages. The Court decision is immediately enforceable.
The Court has scheduled the next procedural date as September 29, 2023.
Background
On July 15, 2019, AIM quoted Anglo African Oil & Gas (“AAOG”), the previous owner of AAOGC prior to its acquisition by Zenith, announced that AAOGC had initiated a legal claim (the “Claim”) in the Paris Commercial Court against SMP following a series of significant performance failures by the SMP 102 rig (the "Rig") during drilling activities in wells TLP-103 and TLP-103C, and the refusal of SMP to engage in negotiations to cover the significant cost overruns that had been incurred by AAOGC as a result.
On February 17, 2023, Zenith announced that it had increased the claimed amount for SMP’s failures during drilling activities to US$9 million in consideration of the significant commercial damages suffered by AAOGC, specifically the impossibility to begin production activities from the Tilapia oilfield, as a direct result.
The Company believes that the Claim launched by AAOGC has merit, especially because of the significant evidence collected at the time to substantiate its position and has since intensified its legal activities in support of the Claim by commissioning third-party expert reports.
A final decision in respect of the Claim is expected prior to the close of Zenith’s next financial year, March 31, 2024.
Andrea Cattaneo, Chief Executive of Zenith, commented:
“We are pleased that the Court has rejected the latest attempt by SMP to delay proceedings.
AAOGC has submitted third-party expert reports for consideration by the Court which have, to date, not been engaged with or countered by SMP.
The Court’s decision has symbolic value for Zenith insofar as it suggests that our steady and resilient approach to our African operations eventually does bear fruit.
We are aware that the significant delays incurred by some of our initiatives in Africa have demoralised some of our investors.
However, as a management team, our confidence in Zenith’s strategy remains unchanged and we are fully committed to achieving the Company’s successful development.”

That is very good news for three reasons.
1) We now appear to have a definite date for the first hearing of the court case and September 29th 2023 is not very far away.
2) The fact that the SMP have been trying to get the court case delayed is a sign that they do not feel that it is going to go well for them, which gives me additional confidence that Zenith will be successful.
3) The fact that the court has already awarded some small damages to Zenith shows that they are also annoyed with the SMP's actions and suggests that we are going to get a fair hearing.
Good news all round here.

Not expecting compensation in Tunisia but settlement, zenith will get inventory worth $20million, SLK and EZZ formally. Also in Congo there will be chances of field in return of $5.6million loan. only expecting money from court case against drilling company.
Zenith already secured source of income in Italy, Tunisia and US ............Bnin and Yemen will make difference in coming days.
