Oil and gas leaders from around the world are meeting in Calgary for the start of the 24th World Petroleum Congress this week. The theme of the gathering this year is Energy Transition: The Path to Net Zero.

Around 5,000 delegates from more than 100 countries are expected to attend the conference, which begins Sunday.

“We will look at carbon capture and storage. We will look to hydrogen, methane reduction, those types of technologies"

The executive director of the Pembina Institute says the energy transition theme is a positive change.

“We want to be one of the places that still supplies them with oil and gas as they are actively decarbonizing, and we also want to be supplying them products and services and sources of energy that are net zero as well,”

You also invest on expectation, that's when you make the most money

Fra xi:

Oppsummering fra Pareto-konferansen:

President & CEO Michael Binnion
• Underway to broaden the strategy to include carbon capture to complement its nonconventional oil & gas business
• *Carbon capture could be key to unlock development of the Utica shale in Quebec, but
also be a profit center on its own
• Long term ambition to also facilitate new industrial hubs where the company can provide
carbon capture and hydrogen supply
• Cash position of CAD 35 million and undrawn credit facility support near term drilling
activity at the Kakwa producing asset
• *Up to three (0.75 net) wells could be spud at Kakwa Central this fall and up to three (1.5
net) at Kakwa North in late 2024 or early 2025*

I've searched the internet up and down in Quebec and can't find any postponement of the hearing so we'll have the hearing now in October as planned

👍

"Meanwhile, a recent report shows Canada is poised to be the world’s second largest developer of new oil and gas extraction to 2050."
