IDEX + IDEMIA + Mastercard Startskuddet går
9. august, Q2 rapport:
During the quarter, the IDEX Pay complete solution passed all the required certification testing by
Mastercard for use on its payment network. A formal Letter of Approval is anticipated in the
coming weeks. This milestone provides smart card manufacturers and end-customers an
expedited route to producing fully certified biometric payment cards, thereby minimizing the need
for them to undertake the entire certification process, which is time-consuming and costly. We anticipate biometric payment cards based on this solution will stimulate growth for the entire market, starting in late 2023 and accelerating throughout 2024 and beyond.
The IDEX Pay complete solution has been selected by 17 card manufacturers and resellers
18 banks currently launching cards with IDEX Biometrics technology across the globe

IDEX Biometrics enables rapid Mastercard certification with major card manufacturer
Oslo, Norway - 16 October 2023-A leading card manufacturer has received a Letter
of Approval (LoA) from Mastercard for biometric smart cards based on the recent
IDEX Pay certified biometric solution.
This LoA was received only a few weeks after IDEX Biometrics certification,
allowing the card manufacturer to rapidly move to industrialized production of
biometric payment cards. In anticipation of the certification, the card
manufacturer has placed a production order, as previously announced by IDEX
Biometrics.
"Receiving their LoA so shortly after the IDEX Biometrics certification,
demonstrates the efficacy and impact of the IDEX Biometrics fast-track
industrial production of biometric payment cards, paired with Mastercard's
efficient certification process" said Catharina Eklof, Chief Commercial Officer
of IDEX Biometrics. Card manufacturers can now support banks, governments and
enterprises in bringing biometric smart cards for payments and digital
authentication to consumers globally."

Oslo, Norway – 16 November 2022 – IDEX Biometrics ASA has received a volume production order from its partner IDEMIA, representing the largest order to date for IDEX TrustedBio sensors. The order represents more than USD 2 million in revenue for IDEX and will begin shipping in Q1 2023. IDEX and IDEMIA are seeing market acceleration for biometric payment cards, and in early November the two companies announced a full-scale biometric card program by a major bank in the UAE. IDEX Biometrics has also recently confirmed agreements with issuers in Turkey and in the UK for biometric card programs, anticipated to reach markets in the first half of 2023.
Dagens godkjenning gjaldt IDEMIA og da går startskuddet.

. While the Company has taken measures to significantly reduce operating
expenses, it does not expect that its existing cash would enable it to fund its operating expenses
and capital expenditures requirements for the next twelve months. The Company is exploring all
options to raise additional capital by the end of 2023 to fund commercialization efforts.
CEO Q4 2022 Earnings Call Transcript: So, if you try to understand how to relate this to IDEX Biometrics business model, if I look at just this group of manufacturers and say, together they manufacture 1 billion cards. If just 1% of those cards become biometric smart cards using IDEX, that’s 10 million cards a year for IDEX. And to put a business point, what does that mean for the company? A 10 million cards per year, IDEX is a very profitable company.

Stor risk i Idex. Idex har endast två kunder som genererar återkommande intäkter. Om en av dessa slutar beställa så blir det extremt besvärligt eftersom Idex Pay är långt ifrån att täcka upp ett eventuellt intäktsbortfall.

"Zwipe" Norway: Payment cards with "fingerprint" technology will be launched soon in Egypt
A prominent source at the Norwegian company "Zwipe" for technology solutions revealed that it has reached advanced negotiations with 3 Egyptian banks to launch payment cards with biometric technology "fingerprint" for the first time in the local market.
The source explained that the three banks vary between government and private, and are considered one of the largest Egyptian entities - but preferred not to disclose their identity at the moment - expecting some of them to be actually launched by the end of this year.
He added that "ZWIPE" recently launched this type of card in Kuwait and Jordan as the first commercial launch in the world

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) is currently considering applications from three banks, including one local government bank, to launch biometric payment cards (personal fingerprint), with the support of the Norwegian company Zwipe, which specializes in electronic payment technology.
A source from the CBE expected the bank to end up approving the applications of the three banks, provided that the Egyptian banking sector will witness the actual launch of these cards inside banks during December of this year. https://www.elaosboa.com/1179197/

DEX Biometrics partners with KONA I to launch biometric cards globally
Oslo, Norway - 26 October 2023 - IDEX Biometrics partners with KONA I, a global
smart card and technology platform company in South Korea, to deploy biometric
payment cards across both recycled PVC and metal cards, for their bank clients
world-wide. An initial order for IDEX Pay has been shipped to KONA I.
KONA I manufactures smart card products, with an annual production capacity of
more than 60 million cards. KONA I holds a vast number of certifications,
including Visa, Mastercard, JCB and American Express, and serves banks and
issuers globally. The company provides a range of innovative smart card products
including metal cards and other special material cards.
Biometric metal cards are in demand by both challenger and traditional banks.
They are expected to revolutionize premium card programs as banks begin offering
them to their affluent customers in early 2024.
More than 50 % of consumers prefer a physical payment card for in-person
purchases versus a digital wallet or cash, confirms a recent global survey from
Edgar, Dunn & Co. The survey points to an unmet demand for metal payment cards.
The customer demand is especially strong across emerging and developing
economies where the growing middle class is pursuing premium products and
experiences such as in Turkey (86%), India (85%) and Brazil (82%).(1)
"We are thrilled to bring true innovation to the high-net-worth customers
banking segment, combing innovation and security with high performing biometric
cards from KONA I," said Catharina Eklof, Chief Commercial Officer at IDEX
Biometrics. "By partnering with KONA I, we are enabling banks and issuers with
revolutionary card solutions giving the banks an opportunity to bolster brand
loyalty, attract new customers and stickiness with existing ones."
"Our collaboration with IDEX Biometrics and the global introduction of biometric
cards represent a compelling opportunity as we build out our industry-leading
biometric card product line. This partnership is our response to the growing
demand of banks and issuers for differentiated and innovative payments," said
Chung-il Cho, CEO of KONA I.
