Hexagon Purus er en av hovedeierne i Norwegian Hydrogen.
Da er testfasen vellykket tilbakelagt og kommersiell hydrogenproduksjonen i gang i Hellesylt, Møre og Romsdal. Den første kunden er Veidekke som benytter hydrogenet til utslippsfri asfaltproduksjon i Kristiansund, i samme fylke.
Det skjer så mye i Norwegian Hydrogen at jeg tenker det er på tide med en egen tråd, for nyheter om selskapet.
Commercial hydrogen deliveries from Hellesylt have started

Norwegian Hydrogen successfully completed the first deliveries of green hydrogen from our production site in Hellesylt this week.
Our pioneering customer, Veidekke, uses the hydrogen in the production of asphalt at their site in Kristiansund, leading the way in zero-emission asphalt production. This innovative approach demonstrates the tangible benefits of green hydrogen, paving the path for a greener future within more industrial segments.

Her refererer Veidekke til nok et Norwegian Hydrogen produksjonsanlegg for grønt hydrogen, som nå er under bygging. Også dette ligger i Møre og Romsdal, nærmere bestemt på Sjøholt. Denne fabrikken vil ha betydelig større produksjonskapasitet enn fabrikken på Hellesylt.

EU fortsetter å pløye store midler inn i satsing på hydrogen. Når det konkret gjelder disse midlene, vet vi at Norwegian Hydrogen er engasjert i produksjon av hydrogen samt bygging av infrastruktur for hydrogen i Finland, i form av fyllestasjoner. Byggingen av fyllestasjoner skjer i regi Norwegian Hydrogens heleide datterselskap Vireon.

The European Commission has approved more than €700 million in hydrogen investments from the governments of Italy, Finland and Lithuania.
The approval, which came as part of wide raging approvals for different countries' energy initiatives, including natural gas purchase and port construction, includes €400 million in Italian state aid and €200 million in Finnish funds that aim to support investments in decarbonization of industrial production processes, and €122 million for Lithuania to decarbonize a fertilizer company's production by setting up a electrolyzer to produce green hydrogen for use in making ammonia.

Partners eye hydrogen supply chains from Nordics to North-Western Europe

Provaris Energy, Norwegian Hydrogen and Uniper Global Commodities have entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop hydrogen supply chains from Norway and other potential Nordic sites to import locations in North-Western Europe using Provaris’ H2Neo carriers.
Specifically, the parties will collaborate in exploring the potential for Uniper to off-take RFNBO-compliant hydrogen, which will be produced by Norwegian Hydrogen and transported and stored using Provaris’ H2Neo carriers and H2Leo storage barges.
According to Provaris, the supply of hydrogen is crucial for the energy security and decarbonization goals of German industrial sectors and energy generators. The company claimed: “Developing a diverse portfolio of supply options for integration into national hydrogen infrastructure is vital for maintaining the competitiveness of the German economy and meeting its decarbonization targets.”
Provaris’ Managing Director and CEO Martin Carolan commented: “We are thrilled to bring our partnerships with Uniper and Norwegian Hydrogen together. This collaboration highlights the business case for compression in becoming a preferred alternative for a cost competitive solution to supply RFNBO compliant hydrogen, offering both capital and energy efficiency for regional hydrogen supply.”
Norwegian Hydrogen’s CEO Jens Berge added: “We remain highly committed to the collaboration we’ve had with Provaris since 2022, and I cannot think of a better offtake partner than Uniper to support the development of our joint projects. This new agreement is positive for all the three parties involved, and I am confident that it will bring strong and tangible results.”
To remind, in April 2024, Provaris and Norwegian Hydrogen extended their partnership to accelerate the development of new hydrogen export sites across the Nordic region.
The new projects will be strategically located in areas with strong grid connections and reliable power supplies, Provaris said, adding that these hydrogen production and export facilities and transportation of compressed hydrogen using Provaris’ H2Neo carriers will provide cost-competitive gaseous hydrogen supply to Europe.
