Absolutely 💯 agree! They did us dirty and yes they have Koreans that are “now” employed by REc with high titles for example VP of operational excellence, Chief Fianancial Officer, chief strategy Officer, SVP of Operational Excellence some of these were never posted to hire! So you can say hanwha of course and influence on REC ML- Butte.

Og dette er et annet.

Also, they will be getting rid of two VPs, one of engineering and operations and engineers who have lots of knowledge of our plants and if we ever had a chance to restart, they would be all gone and probably at other jobs.

Enda et annet .

(I ask) But what we don't understand is why Qcells chose to send the product from REC to China for testing?
(I ask) Did they do it on purpose?
(I ask) Was it all a plan by Hanwha so they could shut down REC?

Answer:
Yes, we, the long-termers, don't understand why they went to China either. To add, no one from REC, Qcells or Hanwha is present, especially the test, which was done by a competitor!

Doesn't REC have a system that measures the actual purity before they send it on? We had a project to build a sampling lab for these reasons, but money was cut. We got some samples tested for dust and some gases, but not for all the test requirements, which were not specified, and they kept changing the criteria every time.

You are definitely on the right track!

Hi
Thanks for reaching out. What are you looking to know? While I don’t have any solid evidence to confirm rumors or anything, I have heard from different people about some things, including our quality of the product, how things were handled during the recommissioning, etc.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

From what I know, we sent our first pallet of product out for testing, which was within the specs we had for dust levels which had passed on site testing. Then it was held up in customs for weeks before officially being tested in china by a third party lab. During that time period, engineering worked on solutions to make the product cleaner from going through the reactors to being run through the new EGPH system.

These measures included:

•A 3D printer type insert that was put into all bead withdrawal piping downstream of the reactors

•Replacing parts within the annealer to produce a cleaner, more quality end product

•Countless hours spent adjusting temperatures, pressures, and levels along with nonstop sampling to see how our product was doing

I had heard from our Engineering department that our product was coming out better and better with each step, but just like any other process, it takes time to be able to get to where you want to go.

I personally find it very odd that all of a sudden we were told we would be shutting down and getting laid off after only really running for 1 year. To me, it seems as though the people with QCells saw what we were able to produce, and decided pull the plug so as to come back and buy majority shares of the company at a later date.
