PRESS RELEASE
15 January 2018

WENTWORTH RESOURCES LIMITED
(Wentworth or the Company)

Appointment of CEO

Wentworth, the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE: WRL) and AIM (AIM: WRL) listed
independent, East Africa-focused oil&gas company, is pleased to announce that
Mr Eskil Jersing has agreed to join Wentworth as Chief Executive Officer
(CEO). We anticipate that Eskil will join the Company and Board of
Directors in Q2 2018 as he undertakes an orderly transition from his current
position as CEO of Sterling Energy.

Eskils career to date spans over 30 years working across the spectrum of
exploration, appraisal, production and development projects in many of the
worlds key Petroleum basins (North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, Africa, SE
Asia and Australasia). Throughout his career, Eskil has led multidisciplinary
integrated teams, executed new country entries, secured major leasehold
positions, in addition to discovering and monetising a number of oil and gas
accumulations. Eskil is currently CEO of Sterling Energy plc, a UK based
independent oil and gas exploration company focused primarily on Africa and
the Middle East.

Eskil started his career in 1985 as a Field Seismologist with SSL, before
moving to Enterprise Oil and, following their takeover, Shell International,
ultimately as the Gulf of Mexico Exploration Strategy and Planning Manager.
In 2009 he joined Marathon Oil as the Companys Manager for Conventional New
Ventures Worldwide and subsequently Apache Corporation as Director Worldwide
Exploration and New Ventures Asia Pacific. He was Head of New Ventures and
Co-Head of Mergers&Acquisitions at Petrobras Oil&Gas BV before starting at
his current role. Eskil holds a BSc in Geophysics from Cardiff University and
an MSc in Petroleum Geology from Imperial College, London.

Bob McBean, Executive Chairman, said:

I am looking forward to welcoming Eskil to the management team and the Board
of Wentworth. He will be taking the reins of the business at a very exciting
time for us; we have an established and growing production base in Tanzania
and an operated near term high impact appraisal and exploration asset in
Mozambique. As indicated in November 2017, with the planned relocation of
management to London, this is the right time for us to welcome a new, dynamic
executive to the Company who has a wealth of relevant geological and industry
experience, to take the business to the next stage in our development.

"Wentworth Resources has announced that it has hired Eskil Jersing as its new CEO to fill the shoes of Geoff Bury. Jersing resigned from Sterling Energy last year so I suppose has the advantage of being readily available to start at WRL. I look forward to meeting with Mr Jersing as he is in an interesting position given that WRL is so strongly positioned at the moment."

This Company has a poor record when it comes to exploration success and should invest its
millions elsewhere instead of throwing down some useless oil non events.
They would create more shareholder value by investing in JVs with successful oil producers in
the small to medium enterprisers. This BOD have big ideas but small brains when it comes to
business.
The one oil producing investment they have an interest in has been going downhill for the past
Five years and will continue to do so regardless of the excuses for declining production.
There are plenty of opportunities out there in what is increasing prices for oil combined with an
Increase in market demand currently so SEY get your act together.
We shareholders are loosing patience with paying out good salaries to a BOD that has shown
little return for shareholders and share value for too many years.
Today’s News Release proves the point.

In my 27 years as an E&P professional, I have rarely come across a colleague as talented and skilled as Eskil. He displays disciplined and thoughtful leadership, maturity, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to technical and commercial excellence. He tackles complex subsurface and above-ground problems creatively and from multiple angles to ensure that the timeliest and most valuable solution is delivered. He is a pleasure to work with and received the highest accolades from his peers and his direct reports. He is also a highly experienced geoscientist with a wealth of knowledge who taught me a thing or two. I welcome the opportunity to work with Eskil again.

Eskil is a true people person and has been a pleasure to work with over the past few years. He has an acute business sense, developed from a broad knowledge of both subsurface and above-ground issues, and a keen understanding of the history and politics of the petroleum industry across a large part of the globe. His deep knowledge base results in the enviable ability to rise above mere detail and see the big picture. Esk's innate ability to work outside his comfort zone, streamline decision making by cutting to the heart of complex business issues, and communicate simple, line-of-sight business plans at both executive level and down the line is a key aspect of his leadership style. He continually strives for improvement, leading by example, and has an extraordinary ability to empathise with his staff, quickly and calmly defusing tensions and resolving conflicts in novel and interesting ways. Simply one of the best leaders I have had the pleasure of working with in my quarter-century career, he is one of the petroleum industry's rising stars. Good luck Esk!

I had the great opportunity of working for Eskil when he was Conventional New Ventures Manager for Marathon. Eskil's ability to identify complex critical issues at a glance, correctly frame them and explain with simplicity, allows his team and others to see value opportunities where most would not. He is an outstanding leader, having mental flexibility, motivation and technical skills that allows him to mobilize, inspire and coordinate multidisciplinary teams efficiently. Eskil's greatest strengths was his versatility and adaptability in being able to apply his technical and leadership strengths to an ever widening scope of situations quickly. I greatly enjoyed working with Eskil and highly recommend him. 9/2010

Eskil was a key person in the formative years as an exploration geologist, instilling in me a lot of the skills I use now. He was always able to foster a healthy challenge-support atmosphere in the team and in our relationship and teamed me up with experienced explorers to help me to rise quickly up the learning curve. He helped me always focus on the business implications of my work and focus on the bottom line rather than gold-plating my work. I admire his drive, energy and focus and how he developed a team ethic and would be happy to work with him anytime.

I was fortunate to work with Eskil for 4 years on growth projects in Brazil. Eskil is an outstanding geoscientist and new ventures manager who uses his breadth of experience and depth of knowledge to excellent effect from regional to detailed prospect scale. His ability to recognise value means he moves much faster than most to logical and practical solutions. Eskil has a phenomenal workrate and tremendous bandwidth in multitasking and expects (and gets) top quality work from his team and colleagues. With all that he finds time to listen and is an excellent manager of people as well as projects. He has little patience with timewasters and maintains the highest standards of integrity - don't expect him to pull his punches. I have no hesitation in recommending Eskil.

I have worked alongside Eskil for 17 years on a great variety of Exploration project types in varied hydrocarbon basins around the world. Eskil remains one of the most productive, pragmatic, flexible and focused Explorers I have encountered. His combination of high energy levels, ability to distill critical issues, ability to leverage other people’s strengths and a very strong `can do` attitude enable Eskil to consistently deliver results beyond everyone’s expectations. Eskil is also an immensely popular Leader – fun, high energy, enthusiastic and motivational with strong business conviction – a winning combination. Eskil is much missed by his ex-team at Shell.
