Under dagens kvartalspresentasjon røpet Tomra-sjefen at nesten alle de største diamantene som er funnet rundt omring på kloden den senere tid er avdekket ved hjelp av sorteringsteknologi fra Tomra. Ranstrand forklarte at disse største diamantene stort sett ender opp som knuste når mer tradisjonelle metoder benyttes.

Merlin Diamonds melder i dag at selskapets Tomra XRT er fullstendig klargjort i Merlin Diamond Mine in the Northern Territory i Australia. Jakten på de aller største diamantene kan dermed starte.


Merlin Diamonds Ltd (ASX:MED) has fully commissioned all size fractions of its Tomra XRT sorting machine which is operating at the Merlin Diamond Mine in the Northern Territory.

The new sorting technology has been installed with the aim of recovering larger diamonds than previously possible as well as recovering low luminescing diamonds.

These diamonds were difficult to recover using previously used sorting technology.

Tomra personnel recently visited the site to calibrate the size fractions and train additional personnel to use the sorter.
