NEL ASA: NEL ASA: RECEIVES ADDITIONAL PURCHASE ORDER FROM NIKOLA

(Oslo, 3 April, 2018) Nel ASA (Nel, OSE: NEL) has received a USD 5.5
million purchase order from Nikola Motor Company (Nikola), as part of
the previously announced hydrogen stations.

We are very proud to announce that we have received an additional
order from Nikola related to the electrolyzer and fueling solution
for their prototype trucks. The order marks a strengthening of our
partnership and is a recognition of the level of competence our team
and hydrogen solutions can offer. We look forward to supplying the
demo stations, which will lay the groundwork for the worlds largest,
most efficient network of low-cost hydrogen production and fueling
sites, says Jon André Løkke, Chief Executive Officer of Nel.

On November 15, 2017, Nikola and Nel announced the exclusive
partnership and a purchase order for two so-called demo hydrogen
refueling stations for Nikolas fleet of prototype hydrogen trucks.
The partnership aims at developing low-cost, renewable hydrogen
production and fueling sites for the potential development of 14
large-scale sites, however, Nikola and Nel are now evaluating if the
initial station number should be doubled to 28 stations.

Oslo, 3 April 2018) Nel ASA (Nel, OSE: NEL) announced today the decision to
halt further work under the agreement with H2V PRODUCT ("H2V"), as H2V has made
limited progress and has been unable to secure project financing. Nel
experiences a significant global interest for hydrogen solutions across
industries and will deploy its resources on other high-value projects. The
discontinuation of the H2V project will not affect the reported order backlog of
Nel.

"We are disappointed by the lack of progress and non-conclusive financing for
the project, and we have therefore decided to utilize our business development-,
engineering- and production capabilities on other projects" says Jon André
Løkke, CEO of Nel.

Nel has been promised final agreements and a pre-payment for many months.
However, H2V has not been able to deliver according to agreed intentions and
terms. In the notice to H2V, Nel has among other things emphasised its rights
related to intellectual property. Consequently, any future initiative by H2V
related to injecting hydrogen into the natural gas pipelines in France will need
to be developed without the use of any information acquired through the process
with Nel.

"We still believe in the power-to-gas market in Europe, and will continue to
work with all the various initiatives within this field. In addition, Nel
experiences a high interest for hydrogen solutions, as can be seen from the
announcement earlier today, and we therefore choose to focus our limited
resources on projects with good traction," Løkke concludes.

Nel´s order backlog of NOK 465 million at the end of 2017 will not be affected
by the discontinuation of the H2V project as the reported backlog only includes
firm purchase orders. Nel reiterates that the company continues to evaluate
significant expansions at the facility in Notodden to be able to deliver larger
volumes and further reduce production costs.

Utvikkingen går absolutt i riktig retning. Børsmeldingen bekrefter at NEL blir en del av den nye satsningen. H2V er satt på is for å gi plass til NIKOLA. Videre opplyses det at Nel har blitt lovet endelige avtaler og forhåndsbetaling for mange måneder. Det understrekes dog at H2V ikke har vært i stand til å levere i henhold til avtaler og betingelser, og Nel påpeker blant annet at fremtidig arbeid av H2V ikke kan utvikles ved hjelp av informasjon tilegnet i samarbeid med Nel.



H2V Product ble grunnlagt i 2016 for utvikle hydrogenproduksjon med ml om bruke biogass og hydrogen i de Frankrikes nettverk av gassrrledninger. Mlet er blande inn fornybar gass med vanlig naturgass for redusere CO-utslipp.
