Norwegian announced they will be making some minor adjustments to its long haul network from London Gatwick. No routes are being dropped and nothing new has been added so it looks like the airline is happy with the network and is right sizing the frequency by destination, some being reduced and some being increased.

Looking at the Apex Fare Analysis scatter chart below the network does now look to have a level of consistency with no routes dramatically under performing the average as has been seen in the past. We still estimate that long haul is loss making from Gatwick but its encouraging to see that performance has stabilised.

Norwegian is entering phase 2 on its long haul business. Routes/destinations/brand are established and next up is connectivity/fequencies on high density routes to be increased. To tap into the frequent traveller segment, where flexibility is mandatory and motivation to pay a premium for this service/product is high. This will result in unit revenues on Norwegian long haul to be positiv effected.
