Tomra gjør seg klar til å vise frem sin markedsledende teknologi under "The Asia International fruit and vegetable show" som er en del av " AsiaWorld-Expo" i Hong Kong, 5. - 7.september. Er som kjent mye folk og voldsomme dimensjoner på markedene i den regionen ...

Tomra and Compac invite you to experience the leading fruit sensing laboratory at Asia International Fruit and vegetable show

2018-08-29 14:44 TOM

Tomra and Compac, the world's leading brand of sensing sorting technology, will be present at the 2018 Asian fruit and vegetable show, bringing you together to represent the technology frontier sensing Technology Laboratory, and to experience the added value and convenience of top technology for the fresh fruit and vegetable industry in close proximity.

From September 5, 2018 to 7th, the Asia International fruit and vegetable show will be opened at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong. At that time, exhibitors and visitors can bring their own fruit samples for testing, to TOMRA and Compac Joint booth (5E Hall 28th), personally experience and understand how the cutting-edge sensing technology to effectively determine the quality of fruit inside and outside, and achieve sorting and grading.

Sensor-based sorting technology to ensure quality

Our traditional perception is that a rotten apple can ruin a whole basket. But in the current consumer-dominated market, a bad apple can cause more damage, and it can ruin the image of a fruit-packaged brand. Therefore, the primary task of the fresh fruit and vegetable brand is to provide consumers with quality fruits and ensure a consistent quality experience.

The quality of fruit picking in each orchard is uneven, and the product of the same orchard cannot guarantee the uniformity of quality; At the same time, consumers in every region have unique preferences, and retailers in each region vary in their standards of quality. The new INSPECTRA2 and other leading detection technology can accurately read more comprehensive quality information, to help fruit packaging companies to accurately complete grading and packaging, to ensure that each fruit can meet consumer expectations. This can improve consumer satisfaction and increase the frequency of repurchase.

Exclusive sensor-Sorting lab

Tomra and Compac are committed to the development of leading sensor sorting technology, with more than more than 40 years of industry experience and the pursuit of innovation, continue to advance the forefront of technology development.

At this Asian international fruit and Vegetable show, the TOMRA team will create a "fruit sensing laboratory" where the key detection modules of the Spectrim and INSPECTRA2 systems will be showcased on site. Exhibitors and visitors can bring their own fruit samples to the laboratory for testing, to appreciate the powerful features of cutting-edge technology, and will receive a detailed report on fruit quality. Sensor technology in the laboratory will present more comprehensive fruit quality features such as sweetness, internal imperfections, dry matter content, storage cycles, and subtle imperfections that are imperceptible to the unaided eye.

Spectrim --This sorting and grading platform is a powerful detection system that is popular in the fresh fruit and vegetable industry. Spectrim not only reduces overall operating costs and the cost of each package, but also ensures that the quality of each package is uniform and the quality of each batch is stable. The equipment will also be exhibited on site at the booth of Tomra and Compac, as well as its operation and sorting process.

inspectra2-- Inspectra2 is a newly upgraded internal quality inspection system introduced at this year's Berlin fruit and vegetable show in Germany. It uses near-infrared spectroscopy to read the fruit's internal quality information, including evaluating Brix and dry matter, and identifying internal flaws to ensure fruit quality while optimizing supply chain efficiency. You can learn about the quality characteristics of fruit in the fruit sensing lab of TOMRA and Compac through INSPECTRA2 's internal quality inspection technology.

Consistent quality, the key to brand building

In the 21st century, consumers are increasingly looking for convenience and buying experiences, both in supermarkets and e-commerce platforms, with packaged brands becoming increasingly popular. At the same time, consumers require the fruit or citrus in the package to be fresh, and to be a champion of the brand after many satisfied quality experiences.

Tomra and Compac provide consumers with consistently high-quality fruit and strive to ensure that every fruit in the package is of the highest quality to create a consumer-trusted brand. Visit the Fruit Sensing Lab at booth 5E28 to see how leading technology can enhance brand value.

Ingen larve kan føle seg trygg når den globale markedslederen innen sortering av frukt og grønnsaker er på farten! ☺

Compac brings the laboratory into the orchard

At the recent South African Citrus Research Symposium, Compac launched a field research unit, a mobile laboratory in a 40ft container. According to the company, it is the first of its kind within the fresh produce industry.

The field research unit can be placed anywhere along the supply chain to analyse both external and internal attributes of fruit. The data gathered in this way aids in decision-making to reduce food wastage and improve packouts, as well as in research and product development.

Chris Komatas, global operations manager of Compac, which has been part of TOMRA Food since last year, notes that false codling moth (FCM) was one of the main talking points at the Citrus Research Symposium. “From our side there is a firm commitment to investigate FCM and the kind of solutions that will be needed. The ability to detect FCM is one of our main priorities with this field research unit.”

Tauranga angle of view: Eliminating the hidden danger of aflatoxin by sorting technology

2018-07-23 09:57 Tom

Aflatoxin in food and milk can cause serious damage to human and animal health, and also directly endanger the reputation of related enterprises. Nestlé 's subsidiary, Xufu Group and an old American supplier of peanut raw materials, said it was not worried about the problem of aflatoxin exceeding its products because they avoided the risk by using advanced laser technology.

Giganten Begro har valgt Tomra Blizzard! Stort! Interessant artikkel.

Sorting foreign material

Begro invested in six new sorting machines. The free fall sorters are used at the end of the production line, near the packaging in freezers. These optical sorters, called Blizzard, are used to sort out foreign material. “These machines are mostly used for foreign objects, but the systems have continued developing so they can now also detect foreign vegetable objects,” Hein explains. As an example, he mentions stems on beans or black spots on products. “Foreign elements in our products are no longer accepted by our customers.” The costs of these foreign elements are calculated into the prices for producers, so it’s necessary to be certain the products are good upon leaving the factory.

The frozen producer tested three different sorters, but chose Tomra’s machine. “We made samples with foreign objects in the vegetables and had these sorted by the machines. Blizzard had the best results.” The software that makes optical sorting possible is adapted when the situation requires this. Begro mentions new defects to Tomra, who will then work on a new part of the sorting software. “For example, a long stem on cauliflower is difficult to detect,” Hein exemplifies. “We’re now working on this so it can be sorted out.”

A long tradition and years of experience as vegetable growers, and particularly as vegetable processors, have provided solid foundations for our rapidly-growing company, which has since become one of the leaders in the European frozen vegetable market.
