IDEX Biometrics and Quest Payment Systems sign agreement to deliver biometric smart cards in Australasia
Oslo, Norway, 14 November 2019: IDEX Biometrics ASA, a leading provider of advanced fingerprint identification and authentication solutions, and Quest Payment Systems, Australia’s largest full-service payment technology supplier, have signed an agreement with the aim of bringing biometric smart cards to Australasia.
Quest is a supplier of payment technologies and smart cards used across retail, consumer, and industrial applications. Quest has chosen IDEX to enhance the security and convenience of its smart card offering with the introduction of its dual-interface biometric technology.
IDEX will support Quest by supplying its unique reference design inlay and dual-interface biometric sensor. Shipments are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2020.
Jan Mason, CEO at Quest Payment Systems comments: “We are excited to be working with IDEX Biometrics on the next generation of smart card technology. Our experience in payments and loyalty cards, coupled with IDEX’s biometric capability, will deliver a vastly improved retail experience for our customers.”
Oslo, Norway, 13 November 2019: IDEX Biometrics ASA, a leading provider of advanced fingerprint identification and authentication solutions, has been chosen by DongWoon Anatech, a specialist inlay and biometric algorithm supplier in Asia, to supply its SmartFinger® IDX 3200 sensor for use in secure access biometric ID cards.
DongWoon Anatech
IDEX was chosen by DongWoon Anatech as the partner of choice in this application because its leading dual-interface sensor provides superior biometric performance, low power consumption and increased sensor flexibility. Dongwoon Anatech will work with a third-party card manufacturer to produce the final secure access ID card, planning for global promotion and supply.
The secure access market is evolving at a rapid pace and the introduction of biometrics offers end-users a unique and personalised security solution. This agreement with DongWoon Anatech builds on IDEX’s earlier success in the secure access market following the multi-year shipment agreement with the provider of global financial news and IT services announced in April this year. IDEX expects material shipments of sensors for this market to begin in H1 2020.
